The Deli & Kitchen Associate is responsible for preparing high-quality food, maintaining food safety and sanitation standards, providing excellent customer service, and ensuring the kitchen and deli areas remain clean, organized, and fully stocked. This position plays a key role in delivering fresh food while maintaining operational efficiency. Essential Responsibilities Food Preparation Prepare breakfast, lunch, dinner, and grab-and-go food items according to company recipes and standards. Cook menu items including fried foods, pizza, sandwiches, burgers, tacos, chicken, and other prepared foods. Portion and package food for display and customer orders. Ensure food quality, freshness, presentation, and consistency. Monitor cooking temperatures and holding times. Label and date all prepared food. Food Safety & Sanitation Follow all food safety procedures and health department regulations. Maintain proper food storage temperatures. Practice FIFO (First In, First Out) inventory rotation. Clean and sanitize all food preparation equipment and workstations. Complete daily cleaning and sanitation checklists. Maintain personal hygiene and wear required protective equipment. Inventory & Stocking Stock ingredients and kitchen supplies. Monitor inventory levels and notify management when supplies are low. Receive and properly store food deliveries. Minimize food waste through proper preparation and inventory management. Customer Service Greet customers in a friendly and professional manner. Prepare food orders accurately and efficiently. Answer customer questions regarding menu items. Maintain a clean and attractive food display. Resolve customer concerns promptly and professionally. Equipment Operation Safely operate kitchen equipment including: Deep fryers Ovens Grills Pizza ovens Sandwich presses Food warmers Microwave ovens Refrigeration equipment Food slicers Report equipment malfunctions immediately. Store Support Assist with stocking beverages and convenience store merchandise when needed. Help maintain cleanliness throughout the store. Assist with receiving deliveries. Support cashiers during busy periods if required. Perform opening and closing kitchen duties. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Previous food service, restaurant, deli, or convenience store experience preferred. Food Handler Certification (or ability to obtain). Basic math and communication skills. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Strong attention to cleanliness and food safety. Reliable attendance and punctuality. Physical Requirements Stand for extended periods (up to 8 hours). Lift up to 50 pounds. Bend, kneel, and reach frequently. Work safely around hot equipment and cooking surfaces. Tolerate hot and cold working environments.
